NANCY MAY

Latest from Nancy

Hello everyone.

It’s been a strange couple of months for me and a very upsetting few weeks. My father sadly passed away on the 15th April. He had been living with Parkinsons and Lewy Body dementia for a few years, however he left this world very peacefully with his nearest and dearest with him. My dad was my biggest hero and inspiration. He was so supportive of my singing from an early age and he was always in the audience right up until the end of his life with a proud smile upon his face. Life will never be the same, but I will put on a brave face and continue in the hopes that I will make him proud and do what I have always loved and what my dad has enabled and encouraged me to do.

This month, this Saturday 20th May, my concert ‘an evening with Nancy May’ will be in the stunning St Marys Church, Great Bardfield. Tickets are £10 and the concert will begin at 7.30pm. It promises to be a beautiful evening of favourite music including operatic arias, musical theatre, popular classics and more! Please email me for tickets – nancy@nancy-may.co.uk or you can purchase tickets from ‘Between the lines’ shop in Great Bardfield. Please tell your family and friends… it will be a very special evening.

I have been in the studio this month and I have almost finished two new songs with a slight twist.. I will let you know when they are on Spotify.

Today I’m teaching singing all day, doing an audition and then I’m very excited to be going to see my best friend in Yorkshire for a couple of days to catch up and relax!

Enjoy the weekend & love to everyone x

I feel like life is getting busier and busier (in an amazing way) and I am hoping/sure that dad is looking down helping make it all happen!

I have been very fortunate to sing with the renowned tenor Russell Watson in two of his concerts so far this year. Winchester on the 31st of March and St Nicholas Chapel in King’s Lynn on 29th April. Both were a brilliant success, with fabulous audiences and an absolute honour to sing alongside Russell Watson and Mike Moran. I loved every minute. Russell’s concert is outstanding and a show which definitely shouldn’t be missed!

I am so happy to have been asked to join him as his special guest for a few more concerts on his ‘Magnificent Buildings Tour’.

I will be singing with him in

Chelmsford Cathedral – 3rd June 2023

Wells Cathedral – 19th July 2023

Truro Cathedral – 21st July 2023

Exeter Cathedral – 22nd July 2023

Gawsworth Hall – 23rd July 2023

Holy Trinity, Sloane Square – 11th November 2023

Shrewsbury Abbey – 18th November 2023

Manchester Monastery – 7th December 2023

Lavenham Church – 9th December 2023

I hope to see some of you in the audience.. let me know if you will be coming to any of the shows and I will try and see you afterwards!

As well as singing with Russell Watson (still having to pinch myself). I will be performing more of my own concerts, all of which can be found on my website https://nancy-may.co.uk/events/list/

If you would like tickets then please email nancy@nancy-may.co.uk and I hope to see you in the audience for a beautiful night of music.

It’s a busy month!.. I am also singing at Braintree’s Festival in the Gardens again this year and I will be performing on Saturday 27th May!

As well as all of the performances, I am also teaching singing and confidence classes daily and performing in care homes in and around Essex.

Thank you for all of your kind words of support at this time. My dad was such a down to earth, genuine, generous, funny and kind man with a heart of gold. I feel so fortunate to have had him as such a wonderful influence and support to me throughout my life. I promise I will do my best to continue to make you proud and always remember you with the best memories my beautiful dad x
